The Social Connection
Tag Sale anyone?

By Joanne Cipriano, Social Connection Director

  DECEMBER 3, 2011 --

K-O! K-O! K-O!  The Social Connection needs your help.  One of our activities for the year 2012 is to have a Grange state-wide tag sale on Saturday – April 28 for the benefit of the American Liver Association.  That is to have one in each Pomona.  We are looking for a Grange in each Pomona to step up and volunteer to have the tag sale at your Grange.

A few facts about liver disease (1) 1 out of every 10 Americans is affected by about 100 types of liver disease (2) That is 30 million people – the number of people in the United States living with diabetes and cancer combined (3) 60% of the people have no history of alcohol abuse and (4) nearly 17,000 people are on the waiting list for a liver transplant.

I’ll be sitting by the phone and checking my computer for your reply.

Our last adventure for the year 2011 was the “Granger of the Year” Contest.  We had seven entries.  Each one a definite winner.  In the end, the judges named Sue Gray from Ekonk Community Grange the winner. We congratulate Sue, we all know how involved she is in Grange work.

Our Spring fun activity will be a Roast – the victim Phil Prelli.  We will Start with a dinner and then have our program.  Full details will be in the Next issue of the Granger.  Get your tickets early.   I’m sure it will be a sell-out.

A healthy and Merry Christmas from the members of the Social Connection – Joanne – Barbara and Betty Jane.
