| January 5, 2016 -- I’m back – sorry I haven’t communicated with you via the Connecticut Granger for the past two issues. Both my computer and I were on the sick list. Don’t know why but for the last couple of years I came home from the State Session with a cold that lasted about 4 weeks. I’m feeling a little bit better than my computer.
By now you know that Nancy Weissmuller of North Stonington Grange was chosen as the “Granger of the Year.” A very deserving recipient. We had some very good nominations so we know the Granges are in good hands.
We want to thank everyone who donated items for our “Reach Out” project. 37 shoe boxes of items were put together and delivered to the West Haven Veterans Hospital by committee member Barbara Robert. Good job, Barbara. We are looking for a project for this year. Any suggestions??
Please save the date May 21, 2016 and plan to attend our next activity. The theme is “Teamwork” and it will be a FUN night being held at Cheshire Grange. The menu is homemade soup and over-stuffed sandwiches plus dessert all for the low price of $5.00.
On a personal note, I would like to thank everyone who sent condolences on the passing of my sister-in-law Linnea. My brother Bob and I and our family appreciate your thoughtfulness. Linnea was a golden sheaf member of Beacon Valley Grange. |
