OCTOBER 1, 2025 -- Autumn is upon us, and with it comes the vibrant energy of Grange programs, contests, and community events. I continue to be impressed by the creativity and dedication of our Lecturers across the state—you are the heart of so much that we do! As we move into the fall season,
I want to take a moment to thank all who have participated in our State Lecturer’s programs and quarterly Roundups this year. Your enthusiasm, talent, and Grange spirit make all the difference in keeping our traditions alive and inspiring new ideas along the way.
Important Update Extended Deadline!
If you’ve been working on a submission for our State Lecturer Appreciation Award or Honor Lecturer Award—good news! The deadline for entries has been extended to October 11. If you need a little more time, now is your chance to polish your entry and submit it. Here are the award criteria:
2025/2026 LECTURER’S APPRECIATION AWARD
CRITERIA for Community and Pomona Granges:
1. Be responsible for a suitable program at every meeting.
2. Programs should be as appropriate up to 30 minutes in length.
3. Cooperate with your Grange Committees.
4. Reports to the State Grange Lecturer/Program Director should be submitted in a timely manner.
Participate in at least one Connecticut State Grange Lecturers’ Roundtable.

HONOR LECTURER’S AWARD
CRITERIA for Community and Pomona Granges:
Meet the requirements for the Lecturer’s Appreciation Award listed above, plus participate in at least three additional contests or projects (Heirloom, Photo, Complete, “Honoring Our Elders,” “A Word from Home,” or “Initiate a New Program”
- In addition, attend at least two or more Connecticut State Grange Lecturers’ Roundtables and submit a “Grange in Action” or “Distinguished Grange” nomination.
Please ensure that you follow the submission guidelines and submit your materials to the designated address by the new deadline. Program Director/Lecturers can submit their nomination to the State Lecturer either electronically to lecturer@ctstategrange.org or granbydavidroberts@gmail.com or via regular mail (P.O. Box 155, Riverton, CT 06065). If you have any questions about what’s required, don’t hesitate to reach out—I’m happy to help.
