Around The Grange
December 2019 News from Oxford Grange No. 194

By Robert Buck

  December 2, 2019 --

Dec. 4: Business Meeting - Resolutions

Dec. 14 & 15: Holiday Bazaar

Dec. 18: Social Meeting - Christmas Potluck, 7:00 P.M.

Dec. 27: GOMAD Potluck and Music, 7:00 P.M. - bring a dish to share.

Much is going to change soon. Master/President Ray and husband Randolph are planning to move to Indiana, but hope to keep connected by retaining membership support. No definite date for the move yet.

We are planning to have another music night in December before Christmas to highlight local talent but no date set as of this writing. Dan Golias and friend of the Grange Rich Patchkofsky are working out the details.

Yoga instructor Aga Chapska will hopefully have had a successful Bazaar and Music Night on November 16, with another Holiday Bazaar planned for December 14 and 15.

While running low on money and trying to keep enough fundraisers in the pipeline to keep the hall running, the idea of selling our mid- century modern Herman Miller chairs (those not too comfortable molded fiberglass things) has been tossed around. Thanks to Kathy Golias’ research and efforts, they were sold on the first day listed on Facebook Marketplace for $3,000. Turns out there is quite a market for those things. Evidently they were given to the Grange more than 30 years ago.
