Around The Grange
May News from Nutmeg Pomona No. 16

By Joanne Cipriano

  MAY 27, 2025 --

Only meeting four times a year can sometimes make the meeting long as was our March 23rd meeting with Degrees and Inspection. Ted Powell, Overseer of the Connecticut State Grange was present for the Inspection. The officers did a good job during the meeting and the conferral of the Fifth Degree.  It has been many years since we had a class of ten candidates from Harmony Grange #92: James & Carol Ritter, Robert & Betty Blackwell, Peter Kinahan and Thomas Sulier, Wallingford Grange #33 William and Kathy Barnes and Scott Mowerson and from Greenfield Hill Grange #133 Melissa Nichols.

Three resolutions from Harmony Grange kept the brain thinking. For Community Service, it was voted to collect cans of soup each meeting to be donated to the Food Bank of one of the Granges present.

Add a bountiful country store topped off with delicious Shepherd’s Pie plus for refreshments made by the members of Greenfield Hill and Harmony Granges made for an interesting afternoon.

Our next meeting is Sunday, June 1 at Beacon Valley Grange. Program “Fun in the Sun”- refreshments Beacon Valley.
