From The Lecturer's Desk: A Word From Home

By Marge Bernhardt, CT State Grange Lecturer

  October 1, 2019 --

It’s a new year. Everyone gets a fresh start. Remember you do not have to be the Lecturer to enter our contests or take part in our projects. I have been asked to review all the projects and contests in this column. My choice for this month is “A Word From Home”.

A WORD FROM HOME – Write to a service man or woman serving overseas in harms’ way. Let’s let our troops know that we care. These can be sent to someone from your area, you can get addresses at www.anysoldier.com, or you can get them to me. Letters must be done in the name of your Grange. Packages should also include a letter.

At present I would suggest that letters be sent to either Iraq or Afghanistan. But, you never know, the situations around the world can change. I like to send the letters to Company Chaplains as they will see that they get to those who don’t receive mail from home.

If your Grange has a new Lecturer I would appreciate it if you would let me know so I can send them newsletters.

Hoping to see a lot of you at State Session…
