Around The Grange
July News from Vernon Grange No. 52

By Irene Percoski

  JULY 4, 2023 --

July 7: Midsummer Nights

Aug. 4: Potluck Picnic – Get In The Game

Sept. 1: International Peace Day (World Peace)

As I write this, we are all staying indoors as the pollution from the fires in Canada make breathing a problem. The air looks all hazy and looks like it is twilight.

We honored Polly Schaefer with the Community Citizen’s award at our June meeting. Polly has been an invaluable volunteer for veterans, not only in Vernon but many surrounding towns. She has selflessly given her time, with the help of her husband Carl, in providing help with applications for veteran’s aid, transportation, delivering meals and securing housing and so much more. Plans for a craft night are in place for July

14 at 6 p.m. Come and be crafty with friends. In August we will honor members with certificates along with the potluck picnic. Congratulations to Dot Dimmock who recently celebrated her 100th birthday, and get well wishes to Elizabeth, who was in an accident.

By now our junk in the trunk sale will be history and hope everything sells well. I don’t know if Midsummer Knights are any different from any other kind of Knight but stop at our July Meeting to find out. The door is always open, and friends are welcome.
