97th Annual Northeast Lecturer’s Conference - July 30-August 2. Please take note – Lecturer’s Conference will be 1 week earlier this year because of scheduling with the college. Please mark these new dates on your calendar.

Did you know . . .

Last year, the Granges in Connecticut donated over 14,000 hours to residents in Convalescent and Rest Homes throughout Connecticut and Rhode Island.

Pomona Lecturers' Meeting . . .

Pomona Lecturers or their representative will hold their annual meeting at Cheshire Grange Hall on Sunday, February 26, 2012 at 2:00 PM. Cheshire Grange Hall is located at 44 Wallingford Road, Cheshire.

April is Grange Month . . .

The month of April each year is designated as Grange Month. Each Grange should plan to celebrate Grange in some special way during the month. For more information, please visit the Grange Month section of this website by clicking here.

Let's Celebrate Day / Grange Sunday - June 10, 2012 . . .

These two events have been combined into one as we celebrate the 127th Anniversary of the Connecticut State Grange and our accomplishments at Cheshire Grange Hall. Contest entries will be judged on Saturday, June 9. On Sunday, June 10, the hall will be open at 10:00 AM for viewing entries followed by our State Chaplains Service at 11:00 AM. The Youth Committee will serve a luncheon at the conclusion of the service. The program featuring the Talent and “A Number” competition will begin at 1:00 PM.

Lecturer's Department Awards . . .

Lecturer's Appreciation Award:
  1. Be responsible for a suitable program at every meeting.
  2. Programs to be between 30 and 60 minutes except on special occasions.
  3. Cooperate with your Committees.
  4. Reports submitted in a timely manner.

Honor Lecturer Requirements:

Meet requirements for the Lecturer's Appreciation award plus participate in at least 5 of the Lecturer's Department contests or projects.

Pomona Award for Public Service and Community Citizen Award:

The Pomona Award for Public Service may be given to either a member or non-member individual or group.

The Community Citizen Award is presented to a non-member individual or group who gives of himself for the betterment of the community. The National Grange has a certificate in a folder and a paperweight available. You can also order just the paper certificate to be placed in your own frame.

Should Auld Acquaintance . . .

Provide assistance to a Convalescent, Nursing or Rest Home at least 6 times during the course of a year. May be programs, gifts, or any type of help the home requests. If unsure of whether or not you qualify, submit report and let us decide. The deadline for the report is October 1, 2012. You can download the report form here.

A Word From Home - Letter Writing Project . . .

Write to a service man or woman serving overseas, or someone who has served and is now recuperating in a military hospital. Let's let our troops know that we care. These can be sent to someone from your area, you can get addresses from www.anysoldier.com, you can bring them to the CT State Grange Central Office or get them to the State Lecturer. Letters must be done in the name of your Grange. If sending a package, the package should also include a letter.

Northeast Grange Lecturers Conference . . .

The 2012 Northeast Lecturers' Conference will be held in New Hampshire. The theme of the conference will be “Beyond The Earth.” Connecticut’s program will be on the Moons. Others will be doing programs on planets, stars, comets, asteroids, constellations and the sun. More information will be released soon.
